Reported via mobile in the Pavement and Cycle path category by David Billing at 15:28, Fri 3 November 2023
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later.
Council ref: 396516.
Moss has been growing and expanding on the footpath between three houses (28-30-32 Howard Close, Haynes) during 2023. Danger to elderly residents is due to slippery surfaces. In some places more than 50% of the footpath is covered with moss, which has also spread into the road. This area was treated by the Council in the past, but due to climate change and the wet summer in 2023, the situation has become worse. Removal of moss and treatment of footpath (and affected road area) is needed to try to avoid recurrence of "moss attack". "Adaptation strategy" to climate change impact on moss growth is required.
