Outside 37 & 39 Dunstable Road

Reported via desktop in the Surface water on Highway category anonymously at 06:56, Tue 28 November 2023

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 397597.

Road has been flooded virtually both sides for the past 2-3 weeks, this becomes treacherous when frosty/frozen conditions. If not cleared then a serious accident will occur as once frozen the water is then tracked further along the road in both directions

  • This has now frozen over resulting in lethal driving conditions. This has been an ongoing issue for approx 4 weeks & given the speed of the cars going through the village they are hitting the iced road surface with no hope of stopping

  • 05.12.23 the road is completely flooded both side & now includes both pavements & there is now pedestrian access available from this end of the village as it is completely blocked, likewise cyclists will also have trouble riding through the flooding as at least a foot deep & the deepest point
