Drain Soakaway has a broken pipe under the flower bed at 45 Poplar Clos

Reported via desktop in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category by Chris Quantrill at 14:24, Wednesday 17 January 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 400260.

This matter was reported and we have had at least 8 visits from various contractors for Beds CC, we have had CCTV confirmation the overflow pipe is blocked as it has collapsed on three days 2 weeks ago engineers dug up the footpath where the contractors thought the pipe was however after further searching for the pipe the contractors located the broken pipe (THE COUNCILS PIPE) was under a flower bed with easy access in the front garden of 45 Poplar Close, the Contractors all agreed it was a council pipe and therefore their responsibility to have it repaired before our Bungalow gets flooded for a third time . The Contractors we understand have reported this to the Council and to date we still await to see the contractors return. As this matter has been going on for over 10 years is it not possible for the COUNCIL to sort this matter out immediately or do I have involve solicitors who will be instructed to sue the Council for negligence. This matter should be high priority.
