Up and along the first turn in Timber Lane

Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category anonymously at 08:46, Mon 4 March 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 403165.

Hi, I (and others) reported these holes and surface failures last month and it was agreed by yourselves that the repairs would be completed whilst the Leighton Street work was being undertaken - however nothing has been done and the workmen have gone. These holes have been here over a year now and have worsened considerably in the last 3 months. People are driving up the middle of the road to avoid them which is dangerous on a blind bend.

  • After speaking with the structural maintenance team, I've been told that these apparently arent in their plans. I will pick these up in april. Thank you for your Highways report.
We have now inspected the defect and no planned repair is necessary at this stage. Please be assured that we will continue to monitor and inspect the road in line with our established service plan.

Thank you for reporting this matter,

  • Thank you for your Highways report.
An order has now been raised to rectify the identified issue and this will now be added to our programme of works. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this work to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP)

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
