Grass Verge that joins Cedars way to Finch Crescent

Reported via mobile in the Crash barriers category anonymously at 17:48, Thursday 14 March 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 403872.

We need a wooden barrier installed around the grass verge that connects cedars Way, Finch crescent and Mentmore Road.

We are seeing a large increase of parents crossing the pavement in their cars and driving over the grass to park while they wait for their children to come out of the school. This is causing mud everywhere, slippery surfaces and as rain falls this gets worse. We are also seeing dangerous parking on this stretch as more parents fight for spaces to wait for children. This over crowding parking at peak times is causing obstructions to cars turning off cedars Way onto finch crescent and then onwards to Mentmore road.

There has been several near misses of children getting run over as they run out from in-between parked cars in the grass verges and onto the road.

This irresponsible parking is illegal, dangerous and not acceptable.

The mud churned up will cause an injury and this will lead to court cases against the council for not acting after years of reporting.

Wooden barriers or a traffic warden are needed ASAP.
