All the road signs along this stretch of road

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 404692.

30mph signs have been put up on all the road signs along this road. There seems to be no zone change of speed limit and as far as I was aware, this road is/was a national speed limit on this section from haynes west end to bolebec farm where it becomes a 40mph. How can a 60mph speed limit become a 30mph without any intermediate speed changes or notice of speed changes? This seems dangerous and confusing as there is no visible zone change. Has this been done legitimately?
