Opposite the junction with Great Lane, on the side of the road to 100 High Street

Reported via desktop in the Surface cover category anonymously at 07:55, Thu 18 April 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 405620.

Exactly the same issue that was reported back in October, the manhole cover doesn't fit properly and every time a car drives over it, it rattles and causes a load noise that's heard within our house and our neighbours. Since your latest un-notified road works, the traffic management guys have removed the cone that was providing us all with a bit of peace, but they have decided to take this away with them, so we are back to square one with no permanent or temporary solution. The next time there is excessive rain fall, the cover will left again and no doubt further cars will be damaged as a result. Knowing this is very likely to happen again, surely makes you negligent, if anything serious was to happen?? Please can you replace this manhole cover, for a lid that fits tightly???
