Road leading from flying fox roundabout to junction with sand extraction works

Reported via desktop in the Road Potholes category anonymously at 18:02, Thursday 18 April 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 405650.

Several large rutted pot holed areas some of which are 10cm deep and 40 cm long. Additional failing drainage grids. This must be associated with the large number of HGV sand trucks using the road. These defects are a significant hazard to all traffic but especially cyclists and motorcycles on this unlit stretch of road. I see that this has been reported before without any action.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
