  • Customer called for an update on the original report reference 404662 which has been marked as a duplicate and no updates are to be added to that report.
Advised customer that any updates for Watling place will be on this report and provided the reference number 405751.
Customer advised that this has been an ongoing issue for a long time, they do not have internet so cannot get updates online or via email so they have previously asked for call backs with any updates but not heard from anyone.
They advised that they met with a worker at the top of the road on 9th May to discuss any repairs that will be being carried out. The worker took photos near number 25 as that is the worst area and they advised they were going to forward the photos to their superior so they can see what action needs to be taken.
Customer also advised that there is now a higher volume of traffic since the school has expanded (which the worker also saw) and it is causing more damage to the road
Email sent to area team via Highways Liaison asking for the customer to be updated by phone.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
Due to current budget constraints, we are having to prioritise repairs for defects that pose higher risks in accordance with our Network Management Maintenance Plan assessment criteria, the details of which can be found online http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

After inspecting the reported issue, our engineers have determined that this doesn't currently feature as a priority for repair. Rest assured, we'll continue to monitor the defect during future inspections. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your report.

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
