Bedford Road before shell petrol station roundabout

Reported via mobile in the Traffic Lights category anonymously at 19:43, Monday 20 May 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 406963.

Friday 17th May 2024 - 11:20pm.

I was driving to Milton Keynes and there was roadwork going on the single carriageway located next to the A421 and before Bedford Road.

There were temporary traffic lights just before the shell petrol station on the double mini roundabout.

They Lights malfunctioned, so on both sides the lights became green. There was a lorry oncoming, so the car in front of me pulled to the road on the right where it was closed by a few cones. I and maybe 8 or more cars behind followed to avoid a collision.

A road worker came and took photo of my registration and said I broke the red lights. I told him the lights were green and malfunctioned. Also, the car in front of me already told the worker the same. Yet he only took photo of my number plate but lied to me and said he took of the car in front of me.

He then said you put my workers at risk and broke the Highway Code.

However, the workers were well away from the road, we turned into. They weren’t even working on that road.

He rather wanted us to be hit by the oncoming vehicles which were Lorries.

The mistake was his or whoever was in charge of the lights and he tried to blame us.
