Numerous Potholes

Reported via iOS in the Road Potholes category anonymously at 22:09, Wednesday 22 May 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 407132.

Congratulations for marking 3 or 4 of the potholes for repair. Of the (at least) 13 potholes on the road surface within +/- 100 metres of this pin, several are as big and as deep as those marked for repair. The unmarked potholes are in similar positions on the road, cause vehicles to swerve to avoid them and all need repair.

Those that are significantly smaller than those marked for repair will become as big within the next couple of weeks, meaning more repairs, more lane closures and more disruption to motorists. If you are coming to repair those marked for repair, you might as well do the rest at the same time.

  • Thank you for your Highways report.
An order has now been raised to rectify the identified issue and this will now be added to our programme of works. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this work to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP)

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
