All the footpaths around the fields overgrown

Reported via iOS in the Public Rights of way category anonymously at 11:00, Sat 1 June 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6047129.

Everything is overgrown and impassable for walkers. Dangerous for dogs with the high grass and overgrown nettles. Hasn’t been cleared in months.

Updates

  • The first section of path leading from the road is on our scheduled vegetation cut and should get cut in July. The section that continues along the field boundary as bridleway is not on any cut, but has tended to be dealt with when the farmer harvests his crop. I'll add this route to my inspection list. Any hedges or trees encroaching onto the bridleway will be the responsibility of the landowner.

  • I visited the site on 29/10/24 and the route appears to be usable. There is low level vegetation, but not to the extent that it is not usable.
