Entrance to Brookfield Park, Castle Hill Road

Reported via mobile in the Flooded Property category anonymously at 18:34, Saturday 1 June 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 407567.

There is no drain in the road at the entrance to Brookfield Park. In heavy rain (eg Thursday 30 May), water and soil (and sewage) comes off the road in torrents down the hill in the park. The soakaways at numbers 6 and 12 cannot cope with this amount of rain and therefore flood. The water continues to the bottom of the home at no 6 and the bottom of the drive at no 12 (see photo). The photos show the locations after the mess has been cleaned up, but the colour of the drive and pebbles in this area show where the water has been. We brush away silt (and sewage) whenever it rains heavily. If there was a drain in the road at the top, the problem for the Brookfield Park residents would be minimised.
