Overgrown and low hanging trees on Grasmere Way
Reported via desktop in the Trees category anonymously at 09:32, Mon 10 June 2024
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 407902.
The trees next to and behind the bungalows on Grasmere Way LU7 2QB are very overgrown with branches hanging very low and in some cases in the road. This makes it very dangerous when walking around the alleyways and parking cars. They are out of control and some are causing an obstruction.

Resident called to advise that the tree located on the side of her property has a very over grown tree that backs on to her back garden fence located by the bus stop. her property is a bungalow door number. 272 can this be reduced as she is concerned that if it was to ever fall it would destroy her entire garden.

Thank you for your Highways report.
We do not prune trees just because they overhang a boundary, or are large. Landowners can prune anything growing into the property up to the boundary. Provided arisings are disposed of responsibly and it is conducted by a competent person. The trees are also protected so you would need consent from the Planning Department if this was relevant.
Many thanks,
