Overflowing drain outside Lodge Farm and No6, The Lodge, Northall Road, LU6 2DQ
Reported via desktop in the Surface water on Highway category anonymously at 08:10, Thu 20 June 2024
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 408273.
This flooding has been an ongoing intermittent problem for the past six months, especially after heavy rain. However, at present, the road and pavement is flooded in spite of there having been no rain. Earlier in the week the drain water was level with the top of the grill and now water is gushing out and flooding the area. Anglian Water have attended and confirmed that it’s surface water and is not due to any problem with their pipework. Parts of our property are constantly being sprayed with surface water as the traffic drives through at high speed. It’s a danger to pedestrians as they cannot pass on the pavement on our side of the road unless they are wearing Wellington boots or want to go paddling. We are aware that there are several silted up gullies and blocked drains in the village but these don’t seem to be attended to. Prompt action is required please!
