Outside 34 Sandy Road and opposite Bowls Club side gate

Reported via desktop in the Road Potholes category by David Thompson at 15:43, Sunday 30 June 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 408658.

This appeared this morning , the surrounding infill around the manhole has started to break up and is causing large lumps of tarmac and stone to be deposited on the road surface. The manhole has sunk as it has done many times previously causing the break up. This time debris has already been spread across to the side of the road as shown in the second picture. Heavy traffic now feeding the new building site off Sutton Mill Road is probably the cause as traffic volume is now very high and continuous. Some of the lumps of debris are quite large and could easily fly by contact with a lorry tyre.
