Garage block entrance between no 23 and 25 Churchill Road, LU6 3LU
Reported via desktop in the Flooded Property category anonymously at 13:31, Tue 2 July 2024
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 408727.
Over a number of years the highways drains on Lowther Road have not been able to deal with heavy rain and the result is that surface water runs down Churchill Road into out garage block and the drain at the top of the garage block entrance cannot cope with the water and as a result the garage block and garages flood on a regular basis. The water over the years has eroded the entrance/exit now causing problems to residents getting in/out of the block.
I reported this issue in 2021 and in August 2023 I raised the issue directly with Highways via Jack Bowers, sending videos in of the problem we are experiencing. No resolution has been found and no contact received about a resolution. The water is also causing patched potholes to fail and we now have a number of potholes still waiting for repair. The potholes are being eroded by the water.
