Gig Lane Heath and Reach, 20 yards from its juncion with Birds Hill, near the gate to number 2

Reported via desktop in the Fences and Walls category anonymously at 13:55, Wed 3 July 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 408774.

The verges havn't been cut since April this year. A retaining wall near the gate to number 2 has been collapsing gradually towards the road. The overgrown verge hides the bulging wall. The road is a single track. There is a danger that an unwary driver will not see the dangerous bulging wall as it is completely hidden by weeds, etc. This situation occurs when driving from Birds Hill up Gig Lane. If the verge is trimmed the danger will be visible. Whoever is responsible for the wall , hopefully will repair it in due course. It has over a period been collapsing towards the road and appears to have been recently struck by a vehicle as the bulge has been split.
