Reported via iOS in the Public Rights of way category anonymously at 19:47, Mon 8 July 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6203420.

The recently constructed 2m footpath is now reduced to less thank 500mm along much of its length. It’s overgrown with nettles and dangerous Hemlock or Giant Hogweed, both of which should NOT get into contact with any person or animal. This needs addressing urgently please

Updates

  • Hi. This section of public footpath is not on any rights of way grass cutting schedule and never has been. Due to a reduced budget, we are unfortunately restricted in what we can grass cut this year and have been increasingly dependant on volunteers to help us carry out extra work. A site visit will be carried out and i will speak to colleagues who manage the tree area and Environmental Services who deal with invasive species matters.

  • The Countryside sites team in Leisure who look after the Froghall Wood site inform me that the grass should be cut this week and there are no hazardous plants in this area
