Reported via desktop in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 09:48, Wed 10 July 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 409021.

At the top end of Warden Road. So going in the direction towards Ickwell. There is over grown vegetation. Dangerous for drivers as there is a bend in the road and no footpath. Also this section of Warden road is very near Northill road

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,

  • Customer called again regarding this enquire and was very adamant that this needs to be looked at as soon as possible as it is very dangerous because the residents and people that are driving can't see the 30mph signs.

Email sent to tree officers team.

  • Customer called again asking for an update regarding this enquiry stating that it's very dangerous as the 30mph sign is covered by overhanging branches. .

  • At current, one of the signs is clearly visible on approach. The sign within the trees (on the left at approach) is embedded within, such that only removal of a large quantity of vegetation would provide sufficient visibility. I believe there are more suitable locations for the beginning of the 30mph zones and the signs. I will request this is looked into by the correct teams.
