Drain at the end of West Re, going onto London Rd, on the left hand side
Reported via mobile in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 20:58, Wednesday 10 July 2024
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 409062.
This drain is constantly overflowing when there is rain, bad enough to flood the whole of West Rd exit and 2/3 of London Rd.
It see it was reported in 2023 but the problem of the drain not doing it's job has been 2+ years. Nothing has been done since the 2023 report and it's only getting worse!
It needs unclogging from the debris and silt that's built up inside it. This used to happen, I think as normal maintenance, I haven't seen a 'drain unclogger truck's for many years.
It needs doing, it is becoming very dangerous and aqua-planing in a car happens a lot, as well as avoiding the flood by entering oncoming car's paths!
Accident waiting to happen.
