Outside of 24 Coombe Drive

Reported via desktop in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 18:40, Wed 4 September 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 411006.

While the council's team cut down the tree, the job was not completed properly. A significant part of the tree is still protruding from the ground, creating a serious safety hazard. Just the other day, I witnessed an elderly woman trip over the remaining stump while walking past. This situation poses a significant risk to pedestrians, especially those who are less steady on their feet.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
Due to current budget constraints, we are having to prioritise repairs for defects that pose higher risks in accordance with our Network Management Maintenance Plan assessment criteria, the details of which can be found online http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

After inspecting the reported issue, our engineers have determined that this doesn't currently feature as a priority for repair. Rest assured, we'll continue to monitor the defect during future inspections. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your report.

    Many thanks,
