Drains outside 9 Bedford Avenue

Reported via iOS in the Flooded Property category anonymously at 07:45, Mon 23 September 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 411829.

Drains in street outside property blocked and flooding. As a result the house was surrounded by floodwater last night and some ingress into garage. Flooding repeating at lower level this morning. We know that a contributor to this is failure to carry out regular maintenance of these drains, which we believe are of the soakaway type and take water from the whole street. The recent heavy rain will have brought further silt to block the drains completely, so now the issue is urgent. Please get drains cleared today as due to the silting, this mornings lighter rain is causing flooding on our property as once the drains are blocked it has nowhere else to go. Thank you.
