There is one drain at the bottom of a slope from the coop down to 6 The Green and the drain is not big enough to cope (along with the other drains on the road) to hold back the floods from the river. Our house was flooded recently and there has previously been flood water up to our doorway in past months. I already called the council up about the issue before. The drainage needs to be upgraded or a flood barrier needs to be put up where the river is. If our house gets flooded again, then legal action will be taken against the council as they have not been out to rectify the situation since Monday and since the previous times before that.

Thank you for contacting us with information relating to a Highways issue. We have assessed this location and have established that there is an issue with the drainage system. We have instructed a drainage engineer to carry out a detailed investigation and to prioritise any necessary repairs for funding and our 5 year capital drainage programme.
