This weeks flooding and overflowing gullies are largely the result of extreme weather and the drainage systems all exceeding capacity, rather the drains themselves being blocked. If your road is flooded, please call the emergency hotline number.
We will continue to monitor the area in a more moderate amount of rainfall and assess at that stage if drains are blocked and if remedial works are required.

Resident has been touch and says that the extreme weather is not the cause of the flooding
See previous Insite message .That the drains along Clophill Rd are normally flowing OK during previous rain falls .
However during those same previous normal rainfalls . The drains in front of numbers 76 , 78 and 78A are blocked due to being full of debris and compacted mud.So they normally have issues with these particular drains. Especially the drain in front of number 78A

Resident unhappy that it has been closed and will be monitored. The drain outside 78a is blocked and it caused flooding in property during the heavy rain. The pavement is completely covered in water during rain which is also a hazard. Would like for it to be re-inspected as there is concerns about flooding happening again.
