Mk45 2rs

Reported via mobile in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 12:50, Friday 4 October 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 412755.

At least 3 road drains have been blocked in Holland Road for many months. The drains are located between 64 Holland Road and the alleyway through to Meadow Way. Rainwater from Coopers Hill collects deposits from Meadow Way and washes down the alleyway into Holland Road. The deposits have completely blocked the drains. Two of the drains have plants growing out of them! The recent wet weather has really proved that the drains do not work. Unblocking them would be really helpful to the residents of the road, especially as houses at the bottom of the road flooded in the recent deluge. Thank you.

We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx
