Exit slip road onto A507 from train station

Reported via mobile in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 21:34, Thursday 24 October 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 413677.

Since the bollards went in following the installation of the car park the exit slip road pathway hasn’t been maintained, it’s now so overgrown people can’t use it. I’ve had several very close encounters in my vehicle with pedestrians being forced to walk in the road, it’s completely unlit so very dangerous in the dark

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
Due to current budget constraints, we are having to prioritise repairs for defects that pose higher risks in accordance with our Network Management Maintenance Plan assessment criteria, the details of which can be found online http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

After inspecting the reported issue, our engineers have determined that this doesn't currently feature as a priority for repair. The pedestrian pathway is under the bridge back towards Henlow Lakes, the opposite direction is now only a slip road for cars. Rest assured, we'll continue to monitor the defect during future inspections. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your report.

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
