Loose drain cover

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 413957.

The manhole/drain cover in the middle of the road is loose and flappy. It makes a terrible smack sound when someone drives over it and appears to be getting worse surrounding tarmac now and it looks like only a matter of time until the manhole cover jumps out of its fitting altogether.

  • Due to current budget restraints, we arent able to action this at the moment. Will look to in the future. Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
    Due to current budget constraints, we are having to prioritise repairs for defects that pose higher risks in accordance with our Network Management Maintenance Plan assessment criteria, the details of which can be found online http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    After inspecting the reported issue, our engineers have determined that this doesn't currently feature as a priority for repair. Rest assured, we'll continue to monitor the defect during future inspections. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your report.
