Drain gullies either side of Zebra crossing

Reported via desktop in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 11:29, Tue 12 November 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 414365.

The road was recently resurfaced, contractors did a really nice job, smooth and level with ironwork covers đź‘Ť top marks.

Shame they dropped surplus asphalt down the two drains either side of zebra crossings so next lot of rain and these will flood. Doesn’t anyone ever inspect works on completion?

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx.
Hello, Our cyclical gully cleaning programme is due this financial year and the gullys will be cleaned then.

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
