First Avenue Dunstable

Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category by David Thomas Whiteside at 11:10, Tue 19 November 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 414616.

Traffic calming humps have recently been introduced in First Avenue, Dunstable. They are all very violent but the one nearest Bull Pond Lane is worse. I have an older "standard" British sports car and it is impossible to get over "at any speed" without the underside grounding. Could you please provide me with the specification of the humps ( Height to width ratio etc.). Were they ever checked for conformity after construction. At the moment I feel they constitute an obstruction to the highway. I look forward to your response.
