Outside 8 Lea Road, Ampthill, Mk45 2PR

Reported via desktop in the Road Potholes category anonymously at 19:20, Fri 6 December 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 415402.

I have received a notification that my reported pothole (415172) is not considered a priority for repair. It is evident that the investigator is neither a cyclist nor aware of the dangers that potholes impose on cyclists. The outer edge of the pothole is 80cm from the kerb and a similar distance in length. It is on the alignment normally taken by cyclists. Regarding potholes, cyclists are the most vulnerable road-users. In my judgement, this pothole is a potential danger to cyclists. The priority is need be reviewed. Although no longer formally involved in campaigning, for fifteen years I was the right-to-ride representative for Mid-Bedfordshire.
