There is a tree (partly dead and laden with Ivy) that hangs across the pavement and the road and at some point it's going to collapse.

Hi, thanks for reporting. We are aware of this tree and have been monitoring it. It is covered by TPO, so I am discussing with planning whether they can grant consent for its removal as soon as possible. If so, we'll be contacting the owner/developer of the property and will request that the tree is removed.

Thank you for the reply. My only comment would be that to have a tree that is 'partly dead and heavily laden with ivy' protected by a TPO seems excessive. I am not suggesting the entire tree be removed just the branches overhanging the pavement / road. Hope that clarifies. many thanks

Thanks. The TPO would likely have been on the tree for decades before it began to deteriorate. We are discussing the tree with Planning to determine what works we could potentially be able to undertake.

Update on your report:
We are currently assessing the matter and further information is currently being collated to assist us. As the tree is protected, I'm not certain we can allow any works to be undertaken by a member of the public. I will contact Planning again to see whether they are happy for anything to take place and whether they believe we need to enforce anything on the landowner.
Many thanks,
