Outside 21 orchard way

Reported via mobile in the Pavement and Cycle path category anonymously at 17:49, Mon 16 December 2024

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 415880.

Stone edging has come loose due to weathering and continuous parking from school run parents mounting the curb edges. Part of the pavement has collapsed and some children have fallen off of their scooters because of this. When there is heavy rain is created a large puddle on the pathway.

  • Thank you for your Highways report.
An order has now been raised to rectify the identified issue and this will now be added to our programme of works. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this work to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP)

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways

  • I have noticed that someone from the highway agency has come to see the damage to the area I reported. However they have only spray painted the area shown in the photo and no makings have been made to the pathway area that I said previously in my first report. Due to the bad weather the dips and cracks on the pathway has resulted in large puddles and ice where a few people have fallen over. It is also a trip hazard for children riding their scooters on the pathway. Will this also be redone when scheduled for repair?
