Footpath leading south east off deadman's hill

Reported via desktop in the Public Rights of way category anonymously at 12:04, Thursday 2 January 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 6921184.

There's a tree blocking the Greensand Ridge footpath off the A6. It wasn't there on 31 Dec 24. If you were walking from Back Street Clophill you would have to retrace your steps all the way back to Back Street Clophill and then walk by the A6 which is about 2km

This report is now closed to updates from the public. You can make a new report in the same location.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report. We are currently checking ownership boundaries. Usually for public rights of way, trees would be the responsibility of the landowner rather than the Council. Unfortunately we do not currently have any budget for any works and the tree looks too large for us to deal with as officers ourselves.

    State changed to: Investigating

Posted by Central Bedfordshire Council at 12:15, Thursday 2 January 2025

  • The land is not within the boundary of the A6 road and so is private land and so the tree would have to be removed by the landowner. We will contact them.

State changed to: not the council's responsibility

  • Some highways finance became available so the tree has now been cleared by our contractors Milestone
