Driveway, between 36-37 Rectory road.
Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category anonymously at 13:25, Monday 6 January 2025
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 416549.
During 2024, Rectory Road was resurfaced, to deal with numerous potholes. Regrettably, as a consequence of the original surface not being skimmed sufficiently, in certain areas, the level of the road is level with dropped Kerb sides - which now creates a water misdirection issue - a causeway down our drive is created, causing flooding to garages. Why there was no inspection of ‘works’ and approval is somewhat beyond me.
We, as the property owner [ 30A Rectory Road ] have a liability and responsibility of the maintenance of the Driveway and surrounding area.Flooding of the garages is now a consequence of the Road ‘improvement’.
Given the amount of Rain experienced n the last 4 / 5 months, this has now become routine. And, a serious problem. And, will clearly continue to be a problem. It requires the height of the road surface to be reduced / or edging stone heights ‘increased’. I’m sure there are many other properties with such issues.
Please can you visit and inspect and advise on your course of action please, before more flooding.
Please acknowledge receipt and forwarding to appropriate department / persons.
Thank you for your urgent attention.
