It is the roadway just beyond the cricket ground towards Shortmead/Fairfield

Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category anonymously at 17:23, Friday 17 January 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 417217.

This road is in dire need of a full resurface, or at the very least filling the larger potholes. I came off my bike whilst using the right of way when the back wheel slipped into a large pothole. I have also had damage to my car tyres from this patch of road. Last year a small amount of work was done, but it barely touched the surface of the issue and we were advised they would be back to do more. That was almost a year ago now and the problem has gotten a lot worse over winter.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
