Corner of Lynton Avenue, before walking into Gothic Way

Reported via desktop in the Pavement and Cycle path category by Lynda Daddario at 14:19, Tuesday 21 January 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 417398.

This hole in the path has been there for many months, unfortunately, last Thursday night my 72 year old Mum was walking home from attending an event at Gothic house at 23.00, it was very dark and the street lighting is very poor in that area, she didn't see the hole and tripped, falling face down onto the pavement. She was taken to ED at Lister and has a severally smashed up face, a broken nose and damage to her knees, she is very shaken and upset. She has an appointment at Lister next Monday to see if she will require an op on her nose. With all the elderly people living in that area I would have thought it was important to ensure the paths are safe for them. This really does need repairing asap, before something really awful happens, if My Mum had been on her own she might have laid there all night in the freezing cold until someone found her in the morning. This is very concerning as today I walked around this area and discovered the paths are in a very poor state
