In front of property drives 17 and 19 Hardwick Close, Shefford

Reported via desktop in the Road Potholes category anonymously at 16:54, Thursday 23 January 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 417504.

There are now a number of potholes where the road is breaking up quite badly. Potholing at same location was reported some time ago (possibly 2 years or more). The repair was deemed unnecessary at the time. Numerous extra potholes have appeared since and the original potholing reported is now worse than before. A narrow crack running across the whole width of the road has also been observed. It would be appreciated if this could be checked out as soon as possible. Thanks.

This report is now closed to updates from the public. You can make a new report in the same location.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We are having to prioritise repairs for defects that pose higher risks in accordance with our Network Management Maintenance Plan assessment criteria, the details of which can be found online http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

After inspecting the reported issue, our engineers have determined that this doesn't currently feature as a priority for repair.
The defects do not cause any risk of danger to vehicles as they are not deep enough.
Rest assured, we'll continue to monitor the defect during future inspections. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your report.

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
