Ampthill road j/w Brightmans Drive for about 100m

Reported via mobile in the Road Potholes category anonymously at 09:27, Sunday 2 February 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 418110.

Has been over two weeks since this opened. Appears to have been reported but nothing has been marked as "done". Due to how busy this junction and section of the road is, there is no way to avoid this hazard if other vehicles are around. In the hours of darkness although street lighting is present this is set to low brightness and visibility is reduced. The pots holes are a serious of old ones that have opened up and become worse creating new ones. They run from brightmans drive junction to the middle of the intersection with Flitwick Road on Ampthill Road. The hole at the deepest point I would say is over 10cm deep.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx
