Gully on north side of Hitchmead Road just beyond the Stratton Way junction, on the approach to Ivel Valley School. (Not marked as maintained by CBC but it is on a CBC road!)

Reported via desktop in the Drains/Ditches Blocked category anonymously at 12:39, Wednesday 5 February 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 418344.

This gully has been blocked for, I believe, years. The day the photo was taken it had been quite cold, as you can see it freezes over. In really bad weather there is a huge sheet of ice there, by a busy junction, where there are often pedestrians in the road because of poor design (the footpath through from King's Reach does not lead to a roadside footpath). It is not on FMS as maintained by CBC but it must be; there are council (or former council) properties on the same side of the road to the east of this, there is the school at the end of the road, and opposite is the old school farm - owned by CBC.
