Snow Hill Junction Flitwick Road Maulden
Reported via desktop in the Road Surface category anonymously at 14:27, Thursday 13 February 2025
Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 418853.
There is a large pot hole / failing of the road surface that is breaking up and leaving gravel on the road surface. This means that any car turning left from the main high street into Flitwick road when travelling in the direction of Ampthill is slipping on the loose/broken road surface and is at risk of hitting any car waiting in the junction to turn onto the main road by the War Memorial. I appreciate that the matter has been reported previously and is scheduled for fix, but this surface needs urgent repair and/or the debris clearing regularly to avoid vehicles turning and loosing traction whilst manoeuvring around the bend. This is getting worse everyday and the fact that the pot hole is increasing in size and cars are skidding regularly when just manoeuvring shows how dangerous this is and how urgent a repair is.

Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx
