The bridge is on the public footpath that crosses the A507
Reported via desktop in the Public Rights of way category anonymously at 14:39, Tuesday 18 February 2025
Council ref: 419141.
The bridge shown in the pictures is on the public footpath that crosses a tributary of the River lit. The what3words reference is close to penny.geek.luxury. The pictures show that the holes on the bridge are bigger than a size 10 boot. NOTE: your system would not allow me to place the pin in the correct location as the public footpath is not recognised - this needs fixing. I am happy to meet your foot path officer to take them to the bridge if necessary

Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately this issue does not come under the responsibility of our Highways Department, however, we have forwarded this report to our Customer Services Team, and requested it is passed to Rights Of Way within Central Bedfordshire Council.
Many thanks,

Hi there. I have moved the pin. We are aware of the issues with the bridge and it is on the list to be fixed before the end of March. The public footpath is actually legally closed at the moment due to the bridge issue. There are closure notices at the High Street end and the A507 end of the path and the closure is on our website - https://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ info/ 82/ countryside/ 431/ rights_of_way/ 2

I have also passed on your comment about the location pin to our highways liaison team. It works at our end - when you select the Public Rights of Way Category, the public rights of way layer appears.
