A6 Northbound between the filter from dual lanes and the turning at Chapel End

Reported via mobile in the Road Potholes category anonymously at 17:26, Tuesday 18 February 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 419155.

Multiple large potholes on this stretch of the road, running adjacent to each other. These are entirely unavoidable- unable to photograph as it ia unsafe to stop (60mph road) The only way to avoid these entirely is to coast over the central reservation where clear to do so or risk costly damage to your vehicle.

It has been there for months now and is obviously worsening

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
