Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 419232.
The two trees are massively overgrown (much taller than the houses) to the point that my house and solar panels are overshadowed most of the afternoon. Due to their size, they are also a nuisance in the autumn when local front yards and the sidewalk are a complete mess for weeks. The branches are protruding into front yards. The lamp post is fully immersed in the branches of both trees (see night photo attached) making the public lighting totally insufficient and pointless, leaving the bumpy sidewalk in darkness. The tree crown is also affecting a telephone line cable. They have never been maintained (i.e. pruning) in the past 3 years, if not longer.

Thank you for your Highways report.
In the new financial year, we will raise an order to resolve the obscured street light in spring.
We do not, however, prune trees for any of the other reasons listed - seasonal nuisance, light.
Many thanks,

Thank you for replying, although is very disappointing. While we, as pedestrians and residents, have to wait for the new financial year to hope the light will be freed from the trees crowns, Tuesday 25/03/25 the council sent a team to prune all trees in Leopold Road on the road side only, to allow parking of cars on the left side of the road (?) due to the meaningless recent project (cycling lane on the right side). Pedestrian have to wait to walk safely in night and early morning hours, basically.
About my other request, your tree is protruding into my front yard with about a third of its crown. It is not only about the nuisance, is the fact that the tree is well into my property. I invite you to reconsider the comment you posted and will prune the tree adequately.

Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We do not prune trees just because they are overhanging a boundary. Land owners are able to prune anything up to their property line, provided this is conducted by a competent person and arisings are disposed of responsibly. Many thanks,
