A6 NORTHBOUND BETWEEN WEST PARK FARM and the HOUGHTON CONQUEST TURN (down the hill)

Reported via desktop in the Road Potholes category anonymously at 10:07, Wednesday 26 February 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 419611.

Subject to a 40mph TTRO for subsidence and potholes. This TTRO has expired? but the problems (and signs) remain. There has been some remedial patching work done but there are still a number of nasty potholes and areas of subsidence, especially going downhill (northbound). If the front wheel of a powered 2-wheeler went into one of these holes it would almost certainly lead to a loss of control and possibly an injury RTC. Happy to meet one of your engineers on site.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
