Previously repaired road damage.

Reported via mobile in the Road Potholes category anonymously at 11:16, Friday 28 February 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 419805.

The pot holes round the manhole that has been previously repaired twice, but it has blown again following the heavy rains on 26th Feb. It appears to be a problem with water coming up the side of the manhole pushing the road surface up, as this was evident at the time on 26th, possibly a restriction in the drainage pipework.

This needs to be properly excavated out and resurfaced, rather than just top coating with tarmac.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
