Either side of the bridleway which crosses the B658

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 420234.

There are no warning signs to alert drivers of the bridleway which crosses the B658. It is 60mph road and dangerous to cross on horseback or on foot leading a horse. Please will you install signs. There are signs further north where the bridleway crosses from the old Shuttleworth entrance across the B658. It is also 40mph in this area.

  • Thank you for contacting us with information relating to a Highways issue. Requests for speed limit changes/traffic calming will be reviewed and prioritised accordingly against all other requests across the county. We do not alter speed limits based on the perception of an issue. Requests will be reviewed based on a number of factors including collision history and independent traffic volume and speed counts over a 7 day, 24 hour period, along with meeting suitability with DfT guidance and prioritised accordingly. Should the request meet all the criteria it may be added to the Capital Works Programme for future years.
