National Speed Limit sign faded

Reported via desktop in the Signs category anonymously at 09:05, Monday 10 March 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 420329.

The National Speed Limit sign as you head northbound towards Langford is so faded it's just a grey circle. This, combined with the missing National Speed Limit signs as you leave Henlow, is causing confusion as to the actual speed limit along Langford Road. Note: The southbound sign in this location seems to be fine, suggesting that the northbound one has just been faded due to direct sunlight.

  • Thank you for submitting your Highways report.
We already have maintenance work planned in for this area and the issue will be resolved as part of this work. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP).

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
