Street lights not on - again!

Reported via iOS in the Not Turning on category anonymously at 19:54, Sunday 16 March 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 420640.

Once again, and for the third time of reporting, lights 6 and the next one along (to the south, not marked with a number) are not on during night hours. This is unsafe as two consecutive faulty lights cause a significant black spot.

Updates

  • Thank you for your Highways report.

An order has now been raised to rectify the identified issue and this will now be added to our programme of works. We are, unfortunately, unable to provide you with a timescale for this work to be completed, however, all repairs are prioritised using an assessment matrix in line with our Network Maintenance Management Plan (NMMP)

An order has already been raised for the streetlight to the south of column 6 (column 7). We have raised another order for column 6 and hope that this finally rectifies the issue.

We will continue to monitor all defects to ensure the safety of our residents as part of the NMMP which can be found online - http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/ transport/ roads-strategies/ highways-asset-management.aspx

    Many thanks,
    Central Bedfordshire Council Highways
