MK45 2HP outside 17 Woburn Street

Reported via desktop in the Surface cover category anonymously at 10:07, Sunday 23 March 2025

Sent to Central Bedfordshire Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 420960.

Gully cleared around 9pm on 21/03/25. Since then noise of metalwork 'clanging' when vehicles drive over the cover; clearly audible and a nuisance within adjacent properties. Appears that one half of the cover is not seated properly - top right corner of cover in photo is lifted. Please ask crew to return and re-seat the cover correctly. Thanks.

This report is now closed to updates from the public. You can make a new report in the same location.

Updates

  • Added a photo in other direction to show raised ironworks on the bottom left corner of drain cover. As vehicles drive over the cover this half rocks back and forth creating the loud noise.

  • Customer who reported this has also called to say the gullies were cleaned friday at 9, spent a while on the gully, when the cover was put back it was nto beddede properly, so when a vehicle goes over it makes a clanking noise, can the crew return to this job and re-bed it properly.

  • The customer I spoke to is grateful for the update, she is just concerned it is a quick job but it is really making a horrendous noise and also can do damage to vehicles, can we prioritse as it should take a matter of minutes to re-bed as it should sit.
